EVERY DROP COUNTS
Hidden water leaks can waste thousands of gallons of water – costing you money and wasting precious resources.
Did you know that plumbing leaks in the American home can waste, on average, more than 10,000 gallons of water every year? That’s enough water to wash laundry for nearly 10 months! Nationwide, more than 1 TRILLION gallons of water are lost due to leaks from U.S. homes each year.
That’s why the City of Carrollton, in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is participating in Fix A Leak Week, part of EPA’s WaterSense program. In 2013, Fix A Leak Week activities saved millions of gallons of water across the nation!
Some of the most common problem areas are running toilets, dripping faucets, outdoor spigots and sprinkler systems.
Here are some easy ways to tell if you have a water leak in your home:
Visit the official Fix A Leak Week website for more information about the detection and repair of leaks in and around your home! Some repairs may be easy enough for you to fix yourself, but if you are in doubt, be sure to consult a professional plumber.
