Military Occupation: Specialist (Freight Operations)

Class: Seamen 1st Class

Service History, Stateside or Abroad: 1942 – Basic training in Virginia. I went overseas to the Fiji Island. I was the freight handling back up for any advanced of military operations. As the war progressed, I went from the Fiji Island to Guarda Canal and the island on the North close to Japan. We did not go on R&R because of the war. We had to take care of the freight that supplied the invasion. Admiral Posey came to Eulitie (USS New Jersey) for conference during the war. I was back in the United State when Japan surrendered. I was housed at at military post that housed Marines & Navy personnel.

I liked being in the Navy. However, I did not like being far away from home. I was discharged in 1945. After returning to New Jersey I got married and went to work in the Millinery Shop, making Adams' hats, with my brother-in-law. Later on I worked for Chock-Full-Of-Nut as a Supply Vendor, as part of the Board. I operated two stores under the name. I worked for 38 years and retired.

Honors & Commendations: Good Conduct Medal,

Present Location: Carrollton, Texas. I am a resident of the Atria, Carrollton. My daughter and her husband live in Frisco, Texas.
