New Directions for City Government

The city of Carrollton takes great pride in providing essential services and programs to our residents, businesses and visitors. You…all of our customers, will benefit from the new directions our city government is taking in managing your tax dollars.

Recently City Council developed new policy and management directions for Carrollton's city government.

Our customers can depend on the City to provide efficient services. Every city department will be applying accountability, cost consciousness, financial planning, as well as developing managed competition programs and action-oriented work plans to manage their operations like a business.

The city has an ambitious action agenda. We will be planning for future DART light rail stations and setting new directions for major improvement projects, financial planning, and community sustainability. Please view the other pages on this Web site for detailed information.

The tax rate is set by city ordinance and is usually adopted in September.
Taxes are assessed and payable October 1, and become delinquent if not paid by February 1.
In May, delinquency notices are mailed for the current year only. If the taxes are not paid by July 1, a 15% collection cost will be added. Legal suits against delinquencies may be filed as early as February 1.
Appraisal protestations may be filed with the Dallas Central Appraisal District from May 1 through May 31 only.
