Improving Carrollton Through the Strength of Volunteers

 

People Helping People is a city initiative to partner with community volunteers with Carrollton's senior and disabled residents to help them meet their exterior home maintenance needs.  Everyday chores and repairs can become difficult for some.  People Helping People program can help improve the sustainability of Carrollton and make the homes of those needing assistance safer and healthier.

Eligible projects will potentially include:
  • Fence repairs
  • Graffiti removal
  • Walkway repair
Projects ineligible for assistance include:
  • Indoor repairs
  • Structural repairs (such as rebuilding a porch)
  • Cosmetic repairs (repainting a home to a new color)

Applicant Information

People Helping People assists Carrollton's senior and disabled residents meet the exterior maintenance needs of their homes.  Homeowners may be required to provide proof of income and age to qualify for assistance. 

Eligible projects may include:
  • Fence repairs
  • Graffiti removal
  • Walkway repair
Applicant eligibility requirements (each case will be evaluated):
  • Must live in the city of Carrollton
  • Must use home as primary residence
  • Must appear on title of home
  • Must be at least 62 years old or disabled
  • Must meet income requirements
